The Open Ticketing Institute supports the trend in the public transport industry to move towards interoperable e-ticketing systems of national scale with open specifications and standards.
The Open Ticketing Institute organises a bi-annual meeting of (mainly European) e-ticketing scheme providers who exchange experiences with respect to project implementation, technology and security.
The Open Ticketing Institute has become a liaison member of the Open Standard for Public Transport (OSPT) Alliance. The OSPT Alliance is an international association chartered to define a new open standard for secure transit fare collection solutions, founded by Giesecke & Devrient, Infineon Technologies, INSIDE Secure and Oberthur Technologies.
